From Concept to Production, the Possibilities are Staggering
The MiMedx platform technology is an NDGA polymerization chemistry. NDGA is a natural di-catechol product derived from the creosote bush. Our patents protect ALL catechol compounds applied to any natural or synthetic polymer and we have proven functionality and biocompatibility in preclinical trials. Using proprietary NDGA-polymerized collagen technology, MiMedx expects to fully-treat tendon and ligament trauma, dramatically decrease time to heal and, in the process, minimize scar tissue and painful adhesions that often result from current methods of repair.
The Company's subsidiary, SpineMedica, has an exclusive license to use SalubriaT in all spinal applications. With its unique properties, this biomaterial has the potential to replace cartilage and repair damaged nerves. Its biocompatibility, extremely low friction coefficient, and high resistance to wear make Salubria an ideal material for articulation against bone or cartilage.
Our patent estate covering NDGA-polymerized collagen and Salubria offers a diverse range of applications. Our patents, rather than being limited to specific products, provide broad process compatibility. The Company intends to patent a wide range of products that utilize these core technologies.

The Healing
Factor: Now, We Can Make a Real Difference for People Everywhere
In preliminary laboratory studies, NDGA-treated collagen
fibers were found to have increased strength. This means that potentially,
patients could begin rehabilitation immediately after surgery. Consider what a
difference this might make for patients who now must wait up to 6 weeks
to begin moving. We might be able to eliminate this waiting period - a
critical time period during which painful adhesions can form that limit repair.
