MiMedx Hires Thomas D'Alonzo as Chief Executive Officer
Tampa, Fla. — January 8, 2007 — MiMedx Inc. (MDX), an R&D company specializing in connective tissue technology, announced today the appointment of Thomas W. D’Alonzo as its Chief Executive Officer.
“We are very excited to have Tom leading our executive management team,” stated MiMedx Chairman Steve Gorlin. “He has a stellar reputation in the industry. His track record of success and managerial savvy will be an enormous asset to MiMedx as we gain momentum in the marketplace.”
D’Alonzo has over 20 years of pharmaceutical executive experience. Prior to joining MiMedx, Mr. D'Alonzo served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Pharmaceutical Product Development, Inc. ("PPD"), a publicly traded drug discovery and development services company. Before joining PPD, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of GENVEC, Inc. (gene therapy biotech) from 1993 to 1996. From 1983 to 1993, Mr. D'Alonzo held positions of increasing responsibility within Glaxo Inc., including President of Glaxo, Inc.
Mr. D'Alonzo received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware and his law degree from the University Of Denver College Of Law.
