Mr. Koob joined the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett
LLP in 1969, became a partner in 1977, and currently coheads the Firm's
Litigation Department. Mr. Koob specializes in competition, trade regulation
and antitrust issues. Throughout his 35-year tenure he has represented clients
before the Federal Trade Commission, the Antitrust Division of the Department
of Justice, and numerous state and foreign competition authorities. His
extensive résumé includes the representation of Virgin Atlantic Airways, Archer
Daniels Midland, and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Co. He received his B.A. from
Rockhurst College in 1966 and his J.D. from Stanford Law in 1969. In addition
to his practice, Mr. Koob is a trustee of the Natural Resources Defense Council
and is Chairman of the Stanford Law School's Board of Visitors.
